Due to the high number of entries this year we are asking that you attend your kit check time as allocated in the link below. The registration process will again take place at Arups on the Blythe Valley Business Park, Details on how to get there are linked below. You must group with your team before coming for kit check. Registrations are now coming in thick and fast but is yours in? Registrations will close at midnight tonight, that includes adding people to your teams. The only thing you will be able to do after tonight is your health forms!

Following a recent mission control meeting we have some exciting updates to pass on to you all in relation to Operation Chameleon 2014 on the 18th October. Please take the time to read the following things closely.

We’re hoping this year will be another record year for us with hopefully even more explorer units taking part than ever before. Due to this increase it is really important that we encourage parents to take part. Parents can take part as catcher teams or as the scout team chaperone.

We appreciate that a number of parents have wanted to take part in previous years but are worried about what’s involved so this year we will be running a couple of kick starter sessions to cover whats involved including some map reading skills and navigation! More information will be available in due course.

Of course to comply with the safeguarding rules of The Scout Association every parent taking part in Operation Chameleon will need a Scout Association CRB check completed by the 14th October. Information on how this can be done will be available online here: Getting Parents Involved

An Extra Challenge
It’s come to our attention that a number of explorer units and catcher teams have started to find a good hiding place and stay put all day! Now, Yes, Well done, That’s good tactics but it’s not the game… So for 2014 we’re introducing an extra challenge for all sections and catcher teams! There will be certain points for each group to visit and collect a letter, Explorers will have 10 place, Scouts and Catchers will have 5 place. For Scout & Explorer teams, for every place/letter you don’t find you lose a life. For Catcher Teams, every place/letter you find, you gain a point! These points are not compulsory but if you’re in it to win it, then you’d be crazy not to!

Costs for the 2014 will stay the same as 2013: £15

After a really good review meeting the other night we are pleased to announce that Operation Chameleon will take place in 2014 on the 18th October

Your feedback has shown us that we need to:
1) Make it a harder challenge for Explorers
2) Make health forms work a bit better…
3) Find more catching teams!
4) Avoid other national event dates (Which we think we’ve done)
